I am a polygamist when it comes to my books. I read several books at once, usually three or four. And when I’m participating in buddy reads in my Discord book club, it can easily be more than that.
The Vampire Lestat (Vampire Chronicles #2) by Anne Rice
I really enjoyed Interview with the Vampire and my goal is to get through the first three Vampire Chronicles books this year. It’s a fun choice to shift the focus onto the villain of book 1 and give us his backstory. I’m reading these three books as part of a buddy read in my book club.
The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
I find myself severely lacking in terms of the classic Russian literature. I’ve read some of Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky’s short works, but never any of the big novels. I needed to rectify this, so when a buddy read opportunity came up in my book club for this one (and Anna Karenina in December, too!) I knew I needed to participate.
Lore Olympus: Volume One by Rachel Smythe
Okay, okay, I know I’m late to the game on this one. I never did read this webcomic, though I had heard of it from several people. When the physical book was released earlier this month, I snatched it up and OMG WHERE HAS THIS BEEN IN MY LIFE??? I am in love. If you haven’t read this comic, then hells bells read it now!
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
I haven’t gotten very far into this one yet. It seems heavy, but I’m super intrigued by it. This one was also picked up because of a buddy read in the Book Lover’s Club on Discord.
What are you reading right now?
Happy reading!
